everyone that tried to get the 1,000,000 screencap. just so you know ... i'm not going to try and determine if anyone faked anything. i mean ... if they can friggin' fake it in the tiny amount of time i took to get it posted and emailed to me, more power to them although ... i don't feel that's the case.

mr. lynch is going to poland! :)

i didn't like the look of that screencap thing i had posted ... so ... i'm replacing it with a headshot for my dog's agent, manager and publicist. she has no assistant. wait ... i'm her assistant...

kidding about my dog "having people," besides us, of course. she walked in the studio and i propped her up, turned on the hensels and lit her from above with a beauty dish.

soon .. my deviations will look different. they'll be no bigger than 6" on the longest side at 72dpi with a larger more prominent watermark.

also ... i'll be deleting all of the journals as soon as my assistant can download them as html ... for posterity and future posting somewhere else.

i may be enabling certain aspects of prints again as soon as i figure out a few things.

thank you all, again, for the faves, the devwatches, the comments ... everything. you know who you are.

hope you're all very very well!

cheers from the amazingly-temperate los angeles!

Hi there

I am new to photography, and your photography is truly inspiring.
I have been reading your descriptions for about an hour now, and I am still amazed.

Even though I "only" have a regular Canon EOS 400D camera, I am about to start my photography degree..

I just wanted to tell you that you are a true inspiration for me and my classmates.

Thank you for sharing your passion

Regards
Marta from Denmark

:) i never thought about that there is a difference between the word medium and middle...cause we always say mittelformat and in german medium and middle is the same anyway. and to the big one we say -fachkamera (that would be translated as expertcamera)- or largeformat. (or -Big Format ;) )

*Finvara:iconFinvara: 5 days 21 hours ago

i hope we can talk about it realtime some day as well, love.

middle format is such a better term than medium format!

35.

middle.

large.

hmm...

note me with your skype name. i'll do the same.
*Finvara:iconFinvara: 5 days 22 hours ago
okay :)
thanks for your quick answer. i also like analog (or fibre in engslih?) fotos. especially middle-format...but its all mixed up in my head because i am still learning to handle all the things i learn everyday. sorry that i misunderstood you. i can be very sarcastic too. maybe the interview was to short and to general to really get what you meant. maybe we can talk in real about that one day. thx.

thank you.

your opinion, love.

what i wrote was my opinion about what kind of photos i enjoy making and looking at.

i know that i enjoy looking at fibre prints that i know have come from a negative. you can enjoy what you enjoy; it's all good.

your english is perfect!

you mistook arrogant for sarcastic; text does not convey tonality.

like the difference between seeing a print in real life and something on a computer screen.

don't be mad. if you heard me say what i said and was able to see my face, then you'd know. :)
*Finvara:iconFinvara: 6 days 35 minutes ago
i could not find that interview i recently read...but i am still mad about your words...even though i respect you as an artist, you should know better. saying that an edited photography is no longer a photograph but graphic design- any graphic-designer must feel offended and any photographer too. havent you yourself developed your photos in a lab? so you must know that there is no "real" photo. dont you know that since there is photography there has been retouching. how can you overlook that every photographer "creates" a reality that does not exist. no matter if he chooses a special point of view or if he retouches his photo.
you should know that even street photography can tell lies...they show something that maybe is not there. so was that really your honest opinion? just to know if i maybe misunderstood...becasue when i watch the actual market out there...well. believing your words would mean photography does not exist anymore and maybe never has. i am sad that some "oldschool" photographers think they are better than others just because they convert their stuff into black and white to make it look more artistic. sorry my english is not that good. i love your work but some words of yours in that interview had an arrogant tone. feel free to correct me if i am wrong.
