beards and hats by cweeks beards and hats by cweeks
january/2011/la

usually my acronym for beards and hats is b&h but b&h is in nyc even though their homies are in l.a., too.

i doubt peta is down with their hats.

even though in my general experience in the "beverly area on a saturday" these guys aren't very friendly ... these dude were. go figure.

it if sucks, it sucks. But if it is good, I value it more if it is "done right". That's my personal opinion of course.

the image matters.

doesn't matter how much effort one puts into a frame: if it sucks, it sucks ... no matter if it's film or digi.

To one extent, it doesn't matter. To the other, it does... it is a contradiction.

thanks, man.

seriously, it's about the image ... not the medium.

i say that ... loving film ... but in the end ... it really doesn't matter.

Nice catch, as usual from you!

From the technical side, I see why I cling to film with all my ten fingers and even toes :)

The background of the hats is actually really interesting. During the Holocaust some Jews were forced to wear those kinds of hats to embarrass them. It became a sign of pride though because they were still proud to be Jewish and to keep our heritage.

This is very true. These are either chabad or Lebavech Jews and they can be very friendly, (might I say, just like any group of peoples).

But now about the picture itself. It is a quite remarkable picture :)
