Artist's Comments

i don't really know if he/she was/is. you can tell in his eyes that my finger would be fun to snap off.

i know it.

and who the fuck wrote, "Photographs of animals that live with people in houses or on farms."

they were on drugs.

and why isn't there a completely friggin' separate category for street photography. not urban-friggin'-landscapes just street photography.

back to the parrot. he lives next to my ex-wife. i was picking up my daughter ... they were having a "suburban backyard party."

they were cool.

they wondered about this guy that shows up with holes in his clothes and a camera.

i always have a camera.

a visual sketch book for those that can't draw.

photographers -- i've said it before -- are painters with A.D.D.

but ... i was transfixed by these damn birds.

i was chased by one of these bastards when i was 10.

i won't forget it.

never.

their beaks are fucking big. i'm sure they could crush anything this side of titanium.

I would normally think that photographing a bird like a parrot in b&w would be a loss because they're such colorful birds. Somehow I think this would be ruined in color though. I like the angle and how sharp and dangerous it makes its beak look.

I'll have to remember that about photographers being painters with ADD. :)
:iconfixmeknow:
a parrot. you're scared of a parrot.

was he really big or just a little big? i had a half moon parrot named Speedy growing up.

i took a picture of a pretty red parrot while in Nebraska. didn't post it though, cause it was just a typical parrot picture.

Excellent d.o.f. I love how you can just barely make out the bird in the background. Or at least it looks like a bird to me...

Love the title - and those beaks are for biting nuts so they gotta be big and strong. Hopefully the only nuts the birds can get a hold of are the kinds that grow on plants ;)

Polly wants a cracker... and your finger!
It certanly looks mean. And sharp, and detailed. Unlike you, I do like animal portraits, but only when they are good, not just "cute".
This one is sublime.
