there are people in this town -- this town being los angeles because even hollywood is referred to by the associated press as the "hollywood section of los angeles" -- who are always ... ON.
yes, i'd consider jamie foxx as always on ... or over-the-top ...
but ... he's nice. he's cool.
he always gives me something interesting.
something that will perhaps syndicate way beyond how long the weeklies and monthlies are interested...
and ... my leicas are really starting to feel like the girlfriend you're tired of ...
because this 85/1.2L ...
i see the photos i'd normally get with a 75/2.0 leica apo 'cron asph ...
and i get them with this.
hmm...
canon e1dm2. 85/1.2L. about 1/500th at f/1.2. 800 iso. converted to b/w in ps cs with custom actions for channel mixing. bumped cont. adj. levels.
yesssss, come to the canon side. Let the fluoride elements seduce you.
I'm actually quite surprised that you're using a MII, instead of a 5D. I figured you as a die-hard full-frame guy. Any particular reason you haven't moved to a 5D?

I really like Jamie Foxx, and I feel like it's a deserved thing - his success. I like to think that he's a genuine guy who really gives you what you see, and doesn't pretend to be someone he's not (of course, how could I know though?). And in that regard, I think this playful kind of shot with him is sort of par for the course with him, and it shows just enough of who he could be, and no doubt probably ultimately is.
The focus off the hand actually helps propel the vision right past it all the while somehow holding it too just a little. It's another in a long line of really excellent portraits in your gallery, man!
Well, I can see you're going to work some of the girls into a lather with this one...
Too cool. He's a handsome gent.
Great depth, as always... and perfect how you've got his attention.
The best zanshin is no zanshin. Zanshin is the "remaining spirit" after combat, the energy you give off that keeps weaker souls at bay while you walk away. The "always on", except it's genuine and real... not an act.
If you've already got weaker souls at bay, they don't dare attack you... so you both survive, and there's no conflict. That's a simplistic view of it, anyway.
But I digress... Thanks for this shot, Chris. Now I know what I'm going to cover in class tonight. (Yeah, I'm back to teaching again...)

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

Death is certain, Life is not...
the 5d is not a pro body. it can't take the abuse. and ... i abuse my shit to high hell.
that said, i don't use a 1ds because i don't need 16mp and i really don't want to beat my "studio-only camera" out in the field. ya' know.
speed-wise, knowing what the magazines need and use ... all that ... the m2 wins out.
i am on the canon side ... for digi...
for film ... leica and rollei.
cheers mate!
