in looking through some archive stuff ...

i found this impromtu portrait i shot backstage of avril lavigne. trippy, trippy chick. she hates photographs. she told me as much but agreed to do two f'ing frames. this photo -- the colour version, at least -- has run in magazines all over the globe.

she almost looks happy. but ... i'll give her this ... i'd rather my daughter listened to her rather than britney... hell ... i listen to her.

nikon d1x ... bounced flash off of a dark friggin' cieling ... a little bouce going forwad with a strategically placed piece of paper ... don't remember any of the other settings.

Fun stuff, but why sign up to be a celebrity if you aren't cool with having your picture taken about 4,583 times a day?

She looks like a shy girl to me (also what I've seen of her live (on the tube)) but also very kind. I too think she's a better rolemodel than Britney (that wench has gone mad, I tell you!)

And once again this is a great capture. Her skin seems to radiate, great lightning! And it must be so awesome to have the photo's you took published all over the world! What a job you have! :drool:

my girlfriend tells me there's extra silica in fiji.

why? because some celebs are fucking special. special beyond a "mortal's" comprehension.

and then i shoot 200 frames of her performance.

they don't make any sense.

whatever ... they pay for camera gear.

wow. cool shot! I agree... if I had kids, I woul MUCH rather them listen to Avril. And hey, I listen to her too! She is pretty awesome, and such a cool voice! New album sounds pretty cool!

Actually I think the photo is a good representation of what she seems to be like in life. A little against the grain, a little shy, a little wild and fun.
