Artist's Comments

i wasn't much interested in le tour eiffel ...

but in the people around it.

besides avoiding the idiots trying to sell me plastic wind-up birds ...

they do understand "fuck off," by the way ...

i saw this little girl with her grandfather's dog ...

something about it works.

ilford delta 400, 125th at about f/8.

Everything leads to that dog.

The line from the old guy, the little girl looking at it. Amazing composition.

A great architectural/portrait/landscape all in one!

Fantastic composition, I love the way the tower frames the picture, and the way the girl's face draws your attention to the dog. Great shot!

I love how you make grain & contrast work in your favor. The structure of the tower is a great frame for the shot. I like how so much is going on, but the girl and the dog are just kind of bored in the midst of it all. +fav

Bloody street peddlers!! Do they ever run out of those damn flying birds?? Love the dog on the leash on the far end of the frame...perfectly balanced moment.

Haha! i just noticed the little girl and the dog. I was thinking to myself, chris... the eiffel tower? But the tension (not really but i can't describe the interaction) between the dog and the little girl is great! the tower frames and then stretches the scene, making it somewhat comical.
