the break... by cweeks the break... by cweeks
when i heard, "lets get a drink" i said, "yeah, lets go."

we ended up at a corner bar. a shit bar. in that netherland between silverlake and echo park.

lots of character though. the drinks were cheap. don't think i paid though. i paid for dinner. so i guess it was deserved.

couldn't hear shit in there but watched some pool.

i've made a few "pool shots" but never got the cue jumping for joy.

leica mp. 35/1.4 summi wide-the-fuck open. ilford delta 400 (pushed +1 to 800 although i would have liked to be at 1600)

Damn, there's some noise in there.

I really like this... bit too much contrast though. At least it seems like it. The depth of field is nice. A faster shutterspeed would've stopped the ball in midair and made it awesome but I understand that you were in a bar and it was dark.

Wow, the stick is bent. haha

Great job with though, I like it a lot.

not noise mate. grain. analogue.

glad you like it, though!

Oh, from the film speed.

I've always thought of noise and grain as the same thing. I guess I was wrong, thanks.
cweeks Featured By Owner Jul 6, 2005
grain is bits of silver. noise is eletronic.

no worries!

I hope you don't mind if I ask... but what electricity causes noise? If that's true, then I guess film cameras don't have it, right? 'Cause film images are produced by chemicals.

I should do my own research, sorry.

nice shot, you've got great timing. i love the lighting too, great atmosphere, it feels just like a view from the end of a pool table (which i'm quite familiar with, since i'm shit at pool and usually just watch...)
