thank you so much ... `equivoque for the dd the other day on ...

so very nice of you.
briefly ... what else? um ... transferring RAW's from one hard drive to another. yep. and ... very much enjoying shooting
"the beast". pdn reviewed both the nikon d3 and "the beast." love that the reviewer, whom did both reviews, said that "you really can't compare the two." it's like apples and oranges. the people who shoot "the beast" don't shoot it for the same reason someone would shoot the d3. "... canon clearly had hasselblad in their sites."
um ... i'm also shooting more medium format as i just picked up a contax 645. you wouldn't believe the deals on this camera. a camera, which shoots zeiss glass, and is now less than a third of what you could buy it for in the past. showed a meager little polaroid to another shooter and he said, "fucking zeiss glass, man, nothing could have let the subject hold up like that against direct sunlight." 'tis true. not even canon.
leica could, though.
RIP polaroid. sad. very. like really fucking sad. that said, i literally bought an entire store's remaining stock with another photographer saying, "it's going out of business? you aren't buying it all are you?"
i smiled.
and ... um ... just read a great web-article by mahomo about composition that i think many will find useful. i found it very very very well done. sure you'll see some familiar names, photos and perhaps some new names and photos.
*looks at hard drive progress on the fw800*
jeesuhs ... how long does 20gig take to friggin' move. "the beast" will require some new drives to store what it spews out ... 35mb RAWS ... jpg-large opening to 60mb. damn. some sundance editors weren't very happy last month for sure.
very very very happy that apple released aperture2! i now have a proper RAW-handling facility for the beast. i've never really "gotten" manufacturer-provided software.
yes, i know i can use lightroom. but i don't.
gave away the canon 5d and the 50/1.4 in our "best page challenge" to a philip aka flipo. first an m7 then a 5d! feels nice to help in the participation in giving back!
so ... wanted to just say thanks to elinor ... and look what happened.
again, everyone, thank you AS ALWAYS for the comments, faves and devwatches! i may not comment as much as i did in the past but ... i do, in fact, read 99% or so .. of what's posted.
hope you are all very very well and making amazing photographs.
cheers from the presently-balmy la-la-land!
p.s., congrats to dA on that whole collections thing. i inadvertently drug my mouse on a photo ... and it opened up this whole thing ... very very very cool, guys. see ... i'm not a dA-basher!

you must be very nice.
the worst part is that you have a leica, I mean 10 leicas! of course when you look through a amazing leica it's very brighter than when you look through an amazing zorki. but if you shoot with a zorki or a leica, don't tell wich one you have used, because we don't care!. the important thing is the final result. it can be as good with a zorki or a leica depending on what you want, so stop teling us your "gears life" just for the hell of it.
escuse me for being as rude...
Next time.. Instead of whining try learning from the pros. You can make good photographs using a lomo and you can make shit with the best leica glass.. that is true. But with money comes quality which pros need.
if you don't do this for a living, it really doesn't matter mate.
now you can go fuck yourself.
when you've graduated to profession, should you ever graduate, please let me know how you feel then about your gear.
just because you don't have the gear i have doesn't mean you have to be a hater, mate.
again, now, you can go fuck yourself.
At the end of the day, it will be cool to have access to all the shows I ever wanted to save without taking up room on my devices. By DAMN the transfer takes forever.
With this much time on my hands ... I should be
downloading some photos I've never taken time to look at. Heh.
